Those fools who bellow with rage and destructive deceit, are crushed and killed innumerable times. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

The foolish ones who roar with anger and play tricks that wreck things are crushed again and again, and they die many, many times.

Anger and trickery pull us in circles that are hard to break alone.
The deeper layer

Living by anger and trickery knocks a person down, over and over.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Kuhkat kapat khapat: shouting, cheating, wrecking. Khal garjat: the foolish one roars. Marjat meech anik baree-aa: crushed, and dying many times over, round and round the circle of lives.

Anger is like a fire that burns the hand of the one who lights it. The verse names that hard cycle plainly so you can see it.

If someone is being unkind to you or hurting you, that is never something you have to accept. Telling a grown-up you trust is always the right thing to do.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you calm down when anger starts to take the lead?
