O One, Life of the World, be kind to me, and bring me to the Guru, the kind True Guru.
Serving the Guru became a joy to me, and the One became kind to me.
All my hopes and wishes slipped from my mind, and the tangles of the world came loose.
The Guru was pleased and planted the Naam firmly in me. Through the Word, I am full of delight.
Nanak says: I have found a wealth that never runs out. The Naam of the One is my wealth and my riches.
Serving the Guru brings a wealth that never runs out: the Naam.
Aasaa mansaa visree: hopes and wishes slip away. Aal janjaal is the tangle of worldly worries, like a ball of knotted string, and here it comes loose. Nihaal is the deep delight of a settled heart.
Atut dhan means a wealth that never runs out. Pocket money gets spent and is gone. This wealth stays, however much you use it.
What do you have that gets bigger, not smaller, when you share it?
