The Perfect Guru is pleased and satisfied; I am blessed with eternal peace and happiness. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

With my mind and body, I meditate on the Lord.

The perfect Guru is pleased with me, and I am blessed with peace and happiness forever.

Wellbeing that lasts comes from a mind and body settled in what is true.
The deeper layer

Meditate on the One with mind and body, and lasting peace and wellbeing come.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Man tan jaapee-ai: mind and body remembering. Gur pooray suparsan: the perfect Guru is fully pleased. Sadaa sookh kali-aan: lasting peace and wellbeing. Kali-aan is the very word that names the raag, here spoken as its promise.

A Question to Sit With

What gives you a peace that lasts, not just a quick fix?
