The humble being is in love with the Guru, like the chakvi bird which loves to see the sun.

She watches, and keeps on watching all through the night; and when the sun shows its face, she drinks in the Amrit. ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The humble devotee loves the Guru the way the chakvi bird loves to see the sun.

She watches and keeps on watching all through the night. When the sun shows its face, she drinks in the nectar.

Some love is a patient watching through the night for the light you are sure will come.
The deeper layer

Love for the Guru is a patient watching, like a bird that waits all night for the sun.

The chakvee is a bird of old Indian poetry who waits through the night for the dawn. Here she loves sooraj, the sun. Nirkhat nirkhat rain sabh nirkhee: she watches and watches all night long. Mukh kaadhai amrit peejai: when the sun shows its face, she drinks in the nectar. Longing is answered, and the waiting ends in light.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you have waited a long time for, sure it would come?
