The Lowest, Embraced by the Highest

ਸੁਆਨ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਜਾਤੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ਹੇਤੁ ॥
su-aan satar ajaat sabh tay krisan laavai hayt.
The killer of dogs, the lowest of all, was lovingly embraced by Krishna.
ਲੋਗੁ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਸਰਾਹੈ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ॥੨॥
log bapuraa ki-aa saraahai teen lok parvays. ||2||
See how the poor people praise him! His praise extends throughout the three worlds. ||2||

In plain words

There is an old story of a man his society counted as the very lowest of all. The divine reached out and embraced him with love, just as he was.

Then even the people who had looked down on him could only praise him. His good name spread across the whole world.

Divine love reaches for the ones the world looks down on — and lifts their name everywhere.
The deeper layer

The One's love reaches first for the person the world pushes away.

Su-aan satar names someone society scorned most harshly, a man counted lowest of all. In the story, Krishna held him close: krisan laavai hayt, Krishna embraces him with love. So again Ravidas turns the ranking by birth upside down. Heaven's regard wipes out human rankings.

Think of the new kid no one sits with at lunch. Then the most loved teacher in school comes and sits right beside him. Suddenly everyone sees him differently.

Teen lok parvays: his praise spreads through the three worlds. The once-scorned name is honored everywhere.

A Question to Sit With

How does it change a person to be accepted exactly as they are?
