Think how a lamp lights up a dark room, so you can finally see. Think how a wife waiting at home feels her every hope fulfilled when her husband returns. Think of the pure joy of meeting someone you love after being apart. That is exactly how my mind feels — soaked in the color of love for the One.
The similes continue, and now they shift from satisfaction toward reunion — the joy of darkness ending and the beloved returning. Jiu andhiaarai deepak pargaasaa — "as a deepak (lamp) brings pargaas (light) into andhiaaraa (darkness)." The arrival of the One is like a lamp in a dark room: not a gradual improvement but a sudden, total change — one moment you cannot see, the next moment you can. Light does not argue with darkness; it simply ends it. So the presence of the One ends the inner darkness all at once.
Then the bridal image returns, central to Raag Maajh: bhartaa chitvat pooran aasaa — "[as] the wife, thinking of (chitvat) her bhartaa (husband), finds her aas (hope) pooran (fulfilled)." Note: her hope is fulfilled simply by thinking of him — the very act of holding the beloved in mind already brings fulfillment. This is simran in romantic form: to dwell on the Beloved is itself a kind of meeting. And mil preetam jiu hot anandaa — "as meeting (mil) the preetam (beloved) brings anand (bliss)" — the actual reunion is pure joy.
The conclusion uses the section's keyword: tiu har rang man rangeenaa — "just so, my mind is rangeenaa — dyed, colored — in the rang (the dye of love) of the One." Recall rang throughout this section: the permanent dye of divine love, which (unlike the world's kachaa, fading colors) does not wash out. Where Pauri 1 spoke of the mind drenched (satisfied), this verse speaks of the mind dyed (transformed in color). To be near the One is not only to be filled but to be changed color — to take on the hue of love so deeply that it becomes who you are. The darkness lit, the beloved returned, the mind dyed through: the longing of separation has turned to the bliss of reunion.
The verse says even just thinking about the beloved fulfills the heart. Is there someone whose memory, even when they're far away, makes you feel happy and complete? What is that like?
