The One turned the forests, the meadows, and all three worlds green and alive. The Maker did this in a single instant — just like that. So Nanak, turning toward the light, holds that One in his heart — the One who fills up the deepest hopes of the mind and makes them come true.
The shabad closes with the great monsoon-miracle made cosmic. Van trin tribhavan keeton hariaa — "the van (forests), the trin (grass, meadows), the tribhavan (the three worlds — the whole of existence) [the One] made hariaa (green, alive, flourishing)." Recall sookaa hariaa from Shabad 24 — the withered turned green. Here it is the entire cosmos greening: when the rains of grace come, not just one soul but the whole creation bursts into life. The brown dead world goes green everywhere at once.
And the speed: karanhaar khin bheetar kariaa — "the karanhaar (the Doer, the One who makes) did it khin bheetar (in an instant, within a moment)." We saw the holy company save khin maahi (in an instant) in Shabad 27; here the Creator greens all three worlds in a khin. There is no slow labor for the One — the entire withered cosmos flowers in a heartbeat when grace flows. This is the effortless creativity of the One: what would take endless ages by struggle happens instantly by its nature.
The closing turn brings it home to the seeker: gurmukh Naanak tisai araadhe, man kee aas pujaae — "as gurmukh (turned toward the light), Nanak araadhe (remembers, adores) that One, who pujaae (fulfills) the aas (hopes, longings) of the man (mind/heart)." The One who greens the whole world in an instant is the same One who fulfills the deepest hopes of a single human heart. The cosmic and the personal meet: the power that floods all three worlds with life is the power that answers your own longing. And the way to it is, as always, gurmukh — the turned face, holding the One in remembrance. The arc completes: the nectar-Word cools the burning mind (Rahao), the Name pours out filling all (P1), the merciful Creator cherishes every creature (P2), and finally the whole world is greened in an instant by the One who also fulfills your heart's hope (P3). Signed with the lineage's name, Nanak. The same grace that revives the cosmos revives you.
The verse says the One greens the whole world in an instant — and also fulfills one person's deepest hope. Does it comfort you that the power behind all of nature also cares about your own small longings? Why?
