In plain words

My Beloved is the **vayparvaahu** — the One who is completely carefree, who needs nothing from anyone and answers to no one.

And yet this same all-powerful One lovingly cuts away our mistakes and the heavy things we carry.

So with real love and tenderness, keep your heart turned toward Him always. He plants both awe and loving devotion deep inside you.

The One who needs nothing from you still chooses to free you — that's what pure love looks like.
The deeper layer

This verse shows two sides of the One that, held together, set us free. The One needs nothing from us. Yet the One chooses to free us anyway.

First: vayparvaahu sach mayraa pi-aaraa — the True, Carefree One is my Beloved. Vayparvaahu means carefree and complete, needing nothing. The One isn't anxious or waiting nervously to see if we behave. The One doesn't need our worship. Second, in the very next breath: kilvikh avgan kaatanhaaraa — the One who cuts away our wrongs and faults. So the One who needs nothing from us still chooses to free us. That is the heart of grace. The help doesn't come because we can give the One something. It overflows from a love that wants nothing back, like a grandparent who spoils you just because they love you.

Notice the word for cutting: kaatanhaaraa, the one who cuts. Faults aren't slowly scrubbed off over years of beating yourself up. They are cut away cleanly, the way switching on a light clears the dark at once. This is mercy, not bookkeeping. You don't have to earn your way out of your mistakes. The Beloved simply cuts the cords.

What's asked of us is gentle: paraym pareet sadaa Dhi-aa-ee-ai — always remember Him with paraym, love, and pareet, affection. Not out of fear of punishment, and not as a grim chore. Then comes the planting word from the verse before: bhai bhaa-ay bhagat darirhaavni-aa. He plants within us bhai, awe, bhaa-o, love, and bhagat, devotion. Even our devotion is something He plants in us. That closes a lovely circle. We are asked to love Him, and the love we offer is itself His gift growing in us. Lover, love and Beloved turn out to be one movement.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between someone helping you because they need something back, and someone helping you purely because they love you? How does it feel to receive each?
