Every Treasure Is Already Held in the One

Why forget Him from your mind? Remembering Him in meditation, pain departs. ||2||

In plain words

Every treasure, every reward, every good quality is held within the One.

So why ever let it slip from your mind? Keep it in mind, and pain lifts away.

Every treasure and every virtue is already held complete in the One — which makes forgetting it simply irrational, like turning from the treasury that holds all you're chasing elsewhere.
The deeper layer

This stanza makes a sweeping claim and draws the obvious conclusion. The claim: all treasures, all rewards and all virtues are in the Lord of the Universe. Everything a person could want — every treasure, every reward, every good quality — is already held, complete, in the One. You do not need to gather these things from a hundred scattered sources; their single source contains them all. The One is not one good thing among many to pursue; it is the treasury in which every good thing is kept.

And the conclusion follows with a kind of gentle incredulity: why forget Him from your mind? If everything you seek is in the One, forgetting the One is simply irrational — it is turning away from the very treasury that holds all you are chasing elsewhere. Why would you? And the practical fruit of not forgetting: remembering Him in meditation, pain departs. To keep the One in mind is itself the lifting of pain — not because problems vanish, but because the soul that holds the source of all good is no longer gnawed by the lack that drives so much suffering. The stanza's logic is clean and quietly persuasive: all good is in the One; therefore do not forget it; and remembering it, the pain of seeking good in the wrong places simply departs.

A Question to Sit With

If everything you're really seeking is held in one source, what would change about where you go looking?
