Such is the destiny God wrote on my forehead; following the Guru's Teachings, I enshrine love for the Lord.

The Panch Shabad, the five primal sounds, vibrate and resound in the Court of the Lord; meeting the Lord, I sing the songs of joy. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

It was written that I would love the One, and walking the teaching, that love took root.

Five deep sounds ring out at the door of the One, and meeting, I sing songs of pure joy.

Love that takes root turns into music you can't help but join.
The deeper layer

The panch shabad — five primal sounds — resound in har darbaar, the Court of the One; the devotee sings mangal, songs of joy. This is the raag's bright, musical heart: the Name experienced as music the whole being joins.

A Question to Sit With

What is a song or sound that fills you with pure joy?
