Verse 11 of 16

Sweet Is the Service

gur kee sayvaa meethee laagee.
Service to the Guru seems sweet to them.
an-din sookh sahj samaaDhee.
Night and day, they are intuitively immersed in celestial peace.
har har karti-aa man nirmal ho-aa gur kee sayv pi-aaree hay. ||11||
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, their minds become immaculate; they love to serve the Guru. ||11||

In plain words

Serving the Guru starts to taste sweet, like something you want to do.

Day and night, a natural, easy peace settles over you.

Keeping the Name close, your mind grows clean and bright, and serving becomes a joy.

When love leads, service turns sweet.
The deeper layer

Gur kee sayvaa meethee — service becomes sweet. Sahj samaadhi is the effortless absorption of sahaj — not a trance you force, but the ease of a mind no longer at war with itself. Seva done from love feeds the doer.

A Question to Sit With
