Raag Maaroo

This composition opens Raag Maaroo. A shalok of nearness (dust of the feet, the One ever-present) gives way to a shabad: those who wake in the quiet hours are welcomed home like honored guests; an honest, empty-handed turning back; the thinness of chasing tastes; the recognition that the only real separation is from the One; and the closing comfort that even the far-apart may be reunited.
