There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.
In the shelter of God, my Beloved, I have found the four kinds of freedom and the four great powers.
I am free, and known through all four ages. A canopy of praise and honour is held over my head.
In the shelter of the One, everything seekers chase is found. It comes by belonging.
Chaar mukat are the four kinds of mukti, freedom, that old teachings describe. Chaarai sidh are four kinds of special powers. People chase these for a lifetime. Naam Dev says he found them all when he took shelter in the One, his doolah, his Beloved.
The powers matter less than this: the chasing ended. He belonged.
Maathai chhatar dhari-o: a chhatar, a royal canopy, is held over his head. Kings once sat under such canopies. Think of a small child riding on a parent's shoulders at a parade. The child did nothing to earn the best view. They have it because they belong. This honor does not come from rank. It comes from being the One's own.
What is something you chase that you might already have?
