Maaroo, First Mehl:
aad jugaadee apar apaaray.
From the very beginning of time, and throughout the ages, You are infinite and incomparable.
aad niranjan khasam hamaaray.
You are my primal, immaculate Lord and Master.
saachay jog jugat veechaaree saachay taarhee laa-ee hay. ||1||
I contemplate the Way of Yoga, the Way of Union with the True Lord. I am truly absorbed in the primal void of deep meditation. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
From before the very beginning, You have been here, endless and beyond all compare.
You are my first and spotless One.
When I think about how to join myself to You, I find You resting in a deep, quiet stillness, and I want to rest there too.
Before there was any beginning, the One already was, and still is.
Outside of time, before all the ages, the One rests in the primal absorption (taarhee). True yoga is simply joining oneself to that stillness.
A Question to Sit With
What do you imagine there was before the very first moment of everything?
