In plain words

Pride, clinging, and greed have quieted; I have kept nothing else in my heart.

I have gathered the jewel of the Naam and the praises of the One, and set out on my journey carrying them.

Pack the one thing that lasts, and the journey is light.
The deeper layer

When the heavy things inside go quiet, you can travel light, carrying only what matters.

The verse names four heavy things. Maan is pride. Moh is clinging. Lobh is greed. Vikaaraa means all the other bad habits of the mind. The speaker says they are gone, and nothing else but the One has been let into the heart.

Then comes a picture of a trader. A trader buys goods, loads them up and sets out on a trip. The speaker has bought only one thing: naam ratan, the jewel of the Name, and the praises of the One. With that loaded up, the journey begins.

Think of packing for a school trip. You could stuff your bag with everything you own. Or you could pack the one thing you really need. Life is a journey we pack for. And the best thing to carry is the Name.

A Question to Sit With

If you could carry one good thing everywhere, what would it be?
