Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have stepped inside Your shelter, O Divine Guru.

You are strong beyond measure, and gentle and kind beyond measure too.

No one can fully grasp Your wonderful ways — You shape all that unfolds with perfect care.

The One that shapes everything is both mighty and endlessly gentle.
The deeper layer

Saran paray gurdayv tumaaree — I have come into Your shelter, Divine Guru. You are samrath (all-powerful) and da-i-aal (merciful) at once, the bidhaataa (shaper of all) whose choj (wondrous plays) no one knows.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to be somewhere completely safe?
