Forgetting your Dear Lord, you enjoy corrupt pleasures, and so you shall have to embrace red-hot pillars. ||1||

In plain words

You might act in secret, but the One is always right there with you; you can only fool other people.

When we forget the One and chase harmful pleasures, we end up holding onto things that only burn.

Nothing is done in secret from the One within.
The deeper layer

You can hide things from people, but never from the One, who is always with you.

Gupat means in secret. Even in secret, the One is right there. The only ones you can fool are other people, dehkaava-ay manukhaa-ay. Then comes a strong picture: forgetting the One and chasing harmful pleasures is like hugging a red-hot pillar.

Think of grabbing a pan straight off the stove. It looked fine, but it burns. The hurt comes from our own choice. It is not the One punishing us. Keeping the One in mind is how we stay safe.

A Question to Sit With

How do you act when you think no one is watching?
