Detached from the world, I am in love with the Lord; by great good fortune, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind.
mil sangat sarDhaa oopjai gur sabdee har ras chaakh.
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, faith has welled up within me; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I taste the sublime essence of the Lord.

My mind and body have totally blossomed forth; through the Word of the Guru's Bani, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
In love with the One and free inside, I keep Him in my mind.
Joining the Sangat, trust wells up, and through the Guru's word I taste the sweetness of the One. My mind and body turn green and blossom as I sing His goodness.
Love can make your whole self bloom like a watered plant.
Lovingly detached (bairaagee) and free inside, the heart tastes the essence of the One through the Guru's word, and the whole self turns green and blossoms.
Mil sangat sardhaa oopjai — joining the Sangat, trust wells up. The Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.
