In plain words

When I hold the Guru's Word in my heart, something in me turns golden — bright and precious.

The One lives there, with no end and no edge. Morning and night I give myself to this, singing the true song, and through the word I meet the Beloved.

The word held in the heart turns something ordinary in you to gold.
The deeper layer

Kanchan (golden) is the transformed body — the mind and body made luminous by contemplating the Shabad. The endless One dwells within, and service day and night is how the meeting happens.

A Question to Sit With

What practice makes you feel brighter and more yourself?
