Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The holy people are so filled and satisfied that nothing is missing in them.

They hold the Guru's word close, and there aren't even words to describe them — the Name has made them great.

When nothing is missing inside, there are no words for it.
The deeper layer

The saints are full, with nothing missing inside.

Taripat aaghaa-ay santaa — the sant, the holy people, are satisfied and full. Think of how you feel after a warm, good meal. You do not want to grab for more.

Gur jaanay jin manntaa — they know the Guru's manntaa, the teaching. Taa kee kichh kahan na jaa-ee — there are no words to describe them. Jaa ka-o naam badaa-ee — the Name has given them their greatness. They did not build that greatness themselves. It was given.

A Question to Sit With
