saachai maylay sabad milaa-ay.
The True Lord unites with those who are united with the Word of the Shabad.
jaa tis bhaanaa sahj samaa-ay.
When it pleases Him, we intuitively merge with Him.
taribhavan jot Dharee parmaysar avar na doojaa bhaa-ee hay. ||1||
The Light of the Transcendent Lord pervades the three worlds; there is no other at all, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1||

In plain words

The One draws close to those who take the true word to heart.

When the time is right, I simply melt into that One, easy and natural.

One light fills the whole of everything; there is no other.

One light fills everything, and I can melt into it as easily as a river into the sea.
The deeper layer

The One unites with those joined to the Shabad, and the merging happens in sahaj, effortless ease. A single light fills the three worlds, leaving no room for a second.

A Question to Sit With

When has something good happened easily and naturally, without you forcing it?
