Maaroo, First Mehl:
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
aapay kartaa purakh biDhaataa.
He Himself is the Creator Lord, the Architect of Destiny.
ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
jin aapay aap upaa-ay pachhaataa.
He evaluates those whom He Himself has created.
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
aapay satgur aapay sayvak aapay sarisat upaa-ee hay. ||1||
He Himself is the True Guru, and He Himself is the servant; He Himself created the Universe. ||1||

You are the Maker, the One who shapes how everything unfolds.
You know each thing You have made.
You are the True Guru and, amazingly, the humble servant too, and this whole universe poured out of You.
The One is the Maker, the Guru, and the humble helper, all at the same time.
The One is Creator, Guru, and servant alike, dissolving the ranks we usually keep. The Architect of Destiny (bidhaataa) knows every creature intimately.
