O king, who would come to you?
I have seen such love in Bidur that this poor man is the one I love.
It is love that makes a person welcome to the One.
Love wins the One's heart, and wealth does not. In the old story of the Mahabharata, the Lord passes by a proud king's palace and goes to the house of Bidur (Vidura), a man of humble standing. 'Oh gareeb mohi bhaavai' — the poor man is dear to me. The lowly one, rich in love, is the honoured guest.
A Question to Sit With
Who is someone you love to be around not because of what they have, but because of who they are?
