Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:
ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
mayraa thaakur at bhaaraa.
My Lord and Master is utterly powerful.
ਮੋਹਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਬੇਚਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
mohi sayvak baychaaraa. ||1||
I am just His poor servant. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My Master is vast and strong beyond measure.

And here I am, small and empty-handed. That is alright, because I am cared for.

You can be small and still be completely cared for.
The deeper layer

My Master is great, and I am small, and that is a safe place to be.

Mayraa thaakur at bhaaraa — my Master is utterly great and strong. Thaakur means Master or Lord. Mohi sayvak baychaaraa — I am just a humble servant. Baychaaraa means poor or helpless. Here it means empty-handed, and cared for.

Think of a small child holding a parent's hand in a big crowd. Being small is fine when you are held.

A Question to Sit With

When has feeling small felt safe?
