In plain words

Say the Naam, O my mind; the One clears away every fault.

Gather this wealth of the One and keep it close - when you set out on the last journey, it walks beside you as your one true friend.

The best friend is the one who walks with you even at the very end.
The deeper layer

Hold on to the Name, O mind. It is the one wealth that goes with you.

Har har naam japahu man mayray: chant the Name of the One, O my mind. To chant, or jap, means repeating the Name with love, again and again. The Name clears away every fault, like rain washing the dust off a street.

Then comes a picture of saving. Har dhan raakho har dhan sanchahu: keep this wealth, gather this wealth. Money, toys and phones all stay behind one day. This wealth does not. When we leave this life, the One walks with us as sakhaa-ee, a friend and companion.

So the end of life is shown as a journey, with a friend at your side the whole way.

A Question to Sit With

What would you want to carry in your heart on a long journey?
