Verse 10 of 16

Where Fear Cannot Reach

poorai bhaag gur sayvaa ho-ee.
By perfect destiny, one serves the Guru.
nadar karay taa sayvay ko-ee.
If God grants His Grace, then one serves.
jamkaal tis nayrh na aavai mahal sachai sukh paa-idaa. ||10||
The Messenger of Death cannot even approach him, and in the Mansion of the True Lord's Presence, he finds peace. ||10||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When the moment is right and grace touches me, I find myself serving the Guru.

Then even death holds no fear — it cannot trouble the one who rests in the True Home. There, in that home inside, there is peace.

Where grace has made its home, fear cannot follow.
The deeper layer

Where grace and service are, fear — including the fear of death — cannot reach. In Maaroo, the raag of death and battle, death becomes a doorway to peace in the True Home (mahal sachai).

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel safe when something frightening is near?
