The Sweetness of Your Name

Nanak, Your slave, is forever a sacrifice to You.

In the Society of the Saints, I have found great peace; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, this mind is pleased and satisfied. ||17||1||3||

In plain words

Your Name is sweet as nectar, my dear One.

Nanak says: I, Your servant, give myself to You, always. In the Sangat I have found a great peace — and seeing You, this heart is full and glad.

Your Name is sweet as nectar, and the Sangat drenches the heart in peace.
The deeper layer

amrit naam tumaaraa — Your Name is the nectar. satsang mahaa sukh — great peace in the Sangat. daykh darsan ih man bheejaa — beholding the One, the heart is drenched and glad.

satsang is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. The close is the joy of the Name and of the Sangat.

A Question to Sit With

Whose company leaves your heart feeling glad and at peace?
