In plain words

The one who serves the Guru is not sent to hell.

The one who serves the Guru remembers the One beyond everything.

The one who serves the Guru joins the Sangat. The Guru always gives life to the soul.

Serve the Guru, join the Sangat, and the Guru feeds your soul every day.
The deeper layer

The person who serves the Guru is never lost and never alone.

The verse repeats gur kaa sayvak, "the Guru's servant." A sayvak is someone who serves with love.

The old verse says this person never goes to hell. Put simply, they are never abandoned and never lost in the dark. Their heart rests on Paarbrahm, the One beyond everything. They join the saaDhsang: the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.

And the Guru gives jee-a daan, the gift of life for the soul, every day. Notice the word "every." It is not a one-time gift.

Think of lunch. You do not eat one lunch and stay full for a year. You need food every day. The soul is the same. The Guru feeds it again and again.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what feeds the part of you that isn't your body?
