Verse 11 of 16

Only One, Everywhere

ayko ayk ravi-aa sabh thaa-ee.
The One and Only Lord is permeating and pervading everywhere.
tis bin doojaa ko-ee naahee.
There is none other than Him at all.
aad maDh ant parabh ravi-aa tarisan bujhee bharmangnaa. ||11||
God permeates the beginning, the middle and the end; He has subdued my desires and doubts. ||11||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The very same One is spread through every single place.

There is no other at all besides that One.

In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, the One is there, and the One has stilled my thirst and my doubt.

If the One is in everything, then nothing is far away.
The deeper layer

Ik Onkar at its clearest: 'eko ayk', the One alone, pervading all, and 'tis bin doojaa koee naahee', no other at all. Thirst and doubt are 'bujhee', quenched like a fire that has gone out.

A Question to Sit With

Where have you noticed the same something showing up in very different places?
