O Nanak, these are not the eyes which can see my Beloved Husband Lord. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

With my eyes I have caught glimpses of the Light, yet my thirst for the One only grows.

Nanak says: these ordinary eyes can only see so much; the sight of my Beloved goes deeper than they reach.

Some love does not fade when it is fed — it grows sweeter.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok about a longing that deepens rather than ends. Seeing the One is a love that keeps opening, with no last page. The eyes that see the Beloved are the eyes of the heart.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love more the more you know it?
