Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 19
Verse 4 of 5

Even Millions Cannot Reach the End

kot kot taytees Dhi-aa-i-o har japti-aa ant na paa-i-aa.
Millions and millions, three hundred thirty million gods meditate on Him; there is no end to those who meditate on the Lord.
bayd puraan simrit har japi-aa mukh pandit har gaa-i-aa.
The Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees meditate on the Lord; the Pandits, the religious scholars, sing the Lord's Praises as well.
naam rasaal jinaa man vasi-aa tay gurmukh paar pa-i-aa. ||3||
Those whose minds are filled with the Naam, the source of nectar - as Gurmukh, they cross over. ||3||

In plain words

Countless bright ones have sung of Him and never found His edge, for He has no edge.

The old books and their scholars sing His praise too. Those in whom the Name lives, sweet as nectar, cross over.

The One is larger than every book and every count, and closer than your breath.
The deeper layer

Even millions upon millions, and the Vedas, Puranas, Simritis and Pandits, cannot fathom the One's limit. The Name is the very source of sweetness. Scripture traditions are treated with respect.

A Question to Sit With

What is something so big you cannot imagine its edge?
