In plain words

O my Master, be kind, be kind to me, so I can keep the One, Har, Har, Har, in my heart.

Nanak says: I have found the perfect True Guru, and in my mind I chant the Naam.

Keep the Beloved held close, right in the center of your heart.
The deeper layer

The One's kindness lets you keep the One held close in your heart.

Kirpaa kirpaa kar thaakur mayray means, "Be kind, be kind, my Master." The word is said twice, the way a child says "please, please." The prayer asks to keep the One ur Dhaar, held in the heart.

Then Nanak says he has found satgur pooraa, the complete true Guru. With that, man japi-aa naam muraar: the mind remembers the Naam. It is like a phone finally finding a strong signal. Everything settles and connects.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you keep in your thoughts even when they are not near you?
