In plain words

There is one path and one door. The Guru is the ladder that takes me up to my very own place.

Nanak says: our Master is so beautiful. Every comfort and every peace is in the True Name, the Naam.

The way home is simpler than it looks — one door, and it is already yours.
The deeper layer

There is one way home, and the Guru is the ladder up to it.

Hayko paaDhar hayk dar: one path, one door. One path makes life simple. All the many roads come down to one movement, turning back toward the One.

Gur pa-orhee nij thaan: the Guru is the pa-orhee, the ladder, to nij thaan, your very own place. That place is the home that was always yours. Think of the stairs up to your own room. You do not need a map; you just climb.

Roorha-o thaakur naankaa: the Master is so beautiful, Nanak. Sabh sukh saacha-o naam: every sukh, every comfort and peace, rests in the True Name.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you trusted that the way home was simple?
