In plain words

You are called kind and merciful. The strength of Your arm has no equal.

Namdev says: You turned the temple around to face me, and turned its back on the Brahmins.

The One opens doors that people slam shut.
The deeper layer

The One welcomes the person others shut out.

Da-i-aal kripaal: kind and merciful. Atibhuj: of mighty arm. Namdev calls on the One's own nature. Then comes the answer: pher dee-aa dayhuraa naamay ka-o, the temple itself was turned around to face Namdev. The One stands with the person who was pushed away. The temple turning its back on the proud priests leaves pride behind, and the welcome is for everyone who comes humbly.

A Question to Sit With

Can you think of a time when doing the right thing meant welcoming someone others left out?
