Fall in love, fall deeply in love with the Lord; clinging to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you will be exalted and embellished.

Those who accept the Word of the Guru as True, totally True, are very dear to my Lord and Master. ||6||

In plain words

Fall in love with the good, deeply — and keep close to kind, loving people.

Hearts that truly take good wisdom to heart are dear to the One.

Fall deeply in love with the good, and stay close to kind people — that's the best protection of all.
The deeper layer

This one says: love the good deeply and stay close to kind people. That is the best protection.

The verse turns warm. Lag lag pareet baho pareet lagaa-ee — "fall in love, fall deeply in love." Then "clinging to the Saadh Sangat, you will be made beautiful." Saadh Sangat means the company of good, holy people.

The answer to bad influence is not fear. It is love. Think of a kid who loves football so much that there is no time left for trouble. Filling your heart with the good leaves less room for anything else. "Those who take the Guru's word as true are very dear" to the One.

A Question to Sit With

What does it mean to 'fall in love' with something good?
