I have found the Holy Person, the Holy and humble servant of the Lord; I offer a prayer to Him, my Beloved Guru.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪੂਜੀ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
raam naam Dhan poojee dayvhu sabh tisnaa bhookh nivaaray. ||1||
Please, bless me with the wealth, the capital of the Lord's Name, and take away all my hunger and thirst. ||1||

In plain words

I found a truly good, humble person. I asked them for one thing.

"Give me the real treasure, the good. Take away my restless hunger and thirst."

The one thing worth asking a wise person for is the good that satisfies your deepest hunger.
The deeper layer

This one says: the best thing to ask for is the good, because only it fills your deepest hunger.

The verse meets a truly good, humble person and makes one request. Raam naam Dhan poojee dayvhu — "give me the wealth, the savings, of the Name."

Then: "take away all my hunger and thirst." This is not hunger for food. It is the restless feeling of always wanting more. Think of getting a new game and feeling bored with it a week later. More stuff doesn't fill that gap. The real treasure, the good, is what finally satisfies it.

A Question to Sit With

What is your heart truly hungry for, underneath everything?
