When Kindness Rains, the Heart Dances Like a Mountain Peacock
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
A loving heart turns to the good the way a flower turns to the sun.
And when the rain-clouds of kindness roll in, it dances for joy, like a peacock on the mountain.
This one says: when kindness pours down like rain, your heart can dance for joy.
"One looks at the Beloved as the lotus looks at the sun." A lotus is a flower that opens toward the sun. A loving heart turns toward the good the same way.
Then: mayr sumayr mor baho naachai — "the peacock dances on the mountain" when the heavy rain clouds roll in. Peacocks dance when rain is coming. Here the rain clouds are grace. Nat is the raag of the dancer, so this joyful picture fits it well. Think of kids running out to splash in the first big rain after a hot summer.
What makes your heart want to dance with joy?
