- he does not have to worry about good luck or bad, if he obeys the Command of the True Guru. ||3||

In plain words

Someone may keep no fasts, make no vows, say no long chants.

If they follow the True Guru's word, they have no need to worry about good luck or bad.

Walk in step with the teaching, and you can stop scoring your days as lucky or unlucky.
The deeper layer

Walking with the Guru frees you from worrying about luck.

jaa kai barat naahee naym naahee naahee bakbaa-ee — someone who does not keep barat (fasts), does not make naym (vows), and does not recite long prayers. Such a person gat avgat kee chint naahee — has no worry about good luck or bad luck. Why? satguroo furmaa-ee — they follow what the true Guru says.

Some people check whether a day is lucky before they start something. Is it a good date? A good hour? The Guru's guidance lets you drop that scorecard. It is like walking with a friend who knows the way. You stop checking the sky.

Prayer and fasting keep their place. The freedom here is freedom from worrying about luck.

A Question to Sit With

Do you ever feel a day is lucky or unlucky? What would change if you let that go?
