Whoever abides in the Lord, becomes immortal. ||4||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Namdev prays: whatever this soul longs for, it receives.
Whoever stays always in the One becomes deathless.
What you fill your heart with is what you become.
Your heart finds what it reaches for.
Namdev prays, ih jee-o chitvai so lahai: whatever this soul longs for, it gets. What you fill your mind with is what you become. Think of a plant. It grows toward whatever light it turns to.
So fill your heart with the One. Amar ho-ay means "becomes deathless." Namdev does not promise the body will never die. He points to the One that never ends. The heart that stays with the One joins what has no ending.
