In plain words

By the Guru's grace, think deeply about what you learn. Read it and study it, and you will be honored.

Within the self, the self lights up, when you are given the nectar of the Naam.

The deepest thing you will ever learn is already hidden inside you.
The deeper layer

Study is good, and the deepest thing you learn is already inside you.

Gur parsaadee vidi-aa veechaarai: by the Guru's grace, think deeply about what you learn. Parh parh paavai maan: read and study, and you will be honored. So learning matters.

The high point of the verse is inside. Aapaa maDhay aap pargaasi-aa: within the self, the self lights up. This happens when one is given amrit naam, the Naam that is sweet like nectar. The deepest discovery comes from within, like a lamp switched on in a room you thought was empty. Your true self finally sees itself.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you understood not by being told, but by discovering it yourself?
