Some treasures have no price and no words — you can only taste them and be filled.

The Arc

• Verse 1 (P0): a treasure beyond the world's push and pull, kept safe in the teaching.
• The Rahau (P1): a wonder too deep to describe.
• Verse 2 (P2): no price can measure it; only seeing it brings knowing.
• Verse 3 (P3): only the Maker knows its own measure — the overflowing treasure.
• Verse 4 (P4): tasting it, the heart is full and the long hope fulfilled.

• tarai gun rahat — beyond the three qualities; the world's push and pull.
• saaDhik siDh — seekers and adepts, who still cannot reach it.

Themes and Cross-Connections

The shabad circles a single point: the deepest reality cannot be priced, described, or reasoned out — it can only be experienced. This is vismaad, the awe that is the very meaning of Wahe. And its taste ends the restless hunger for more, echoing the whole tradition's move from craving to contentment.

Yogic paths prize secret attainments and hidden powers. Guru Arjan agrees there is a secret treasure — but locates it inside the teaching, free to anyone who tastes it, not won by austerity.
