Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

In the shelter of the One's lotus feet, I sing the One's praise in joy and bliss.

Nanak says: worship the One with love, the One who clears away misfortune.

Taking shelter can be as simple as turning toward what steadies you.
The deeper layer

Sarnaagatee means taking sanctuary, refuge. Bipat nivaaran, remover of misfortune, is a keynote heard again and again in this Chhant, which alternates short saloks (couplets) with longer chhant verses.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you turn when you need to feel safe?
