Nanak takes the support of the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe, the Destroyer of troubles. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Remembering the One, mind and body find peace, and the thought of "two", of being split off from the One, goes away.
Nanak says: I lean on the Lord of the world, the One who frees us from trouble.
Much of our restlessness comes from feeling separate, and it softens when we remember we are not.
Dutee-aa soch — "the thought of duality," the sense of being cut off and separate, which is the root of haumai. Remembrance heals this by returning the mind to the one reality behind appearances. Sankat moch is the One who loosens knots and frees from trouble.
