The kind One has cut away my fears and troubles.
In joy I sing the One's goodness; the One is the Master and caretaker of the humble.
The caretaker lasts forever, the one and only first Being, and I am colored with the One's love.
I placed my hands and forehead at the One's feet, and the One joined me close; now I am awake and aware, always, night and day.
My soul, my body, my house and my home are the One's — my body, my youth, my wealth and my things.
Nanak says: forever and ever I give myself to the One who cares for all living beings.
Rang laagaa — being "dyed" in love, colored all the way through, a favorite Gurbani image for total devotion. Kar charan mastak mayl — hands and forehead placed at the feet, then merged: complete surrender met by complete embrace. An-din jaagaa — awake day and night: an inner wakefulness, not staying up without sleep.
What is something you love so much it shapes how you spend your days?
