Nanak has grasped the sheltering support of the One Transcendent Lord, who shall save him in the end. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
My voice speaks the One, telling over and over the goodness of the One.
Nanak has taken firm hold of the One — the One who keeps him safe, right to the end.
What you hold to now can be the very thing that holds you later.
Rasnaa uchrai — the tongue speaking the Name, remembrance made audible. Rakhai nidaan — "saves in the end": the reassurance that the One held to now is the One who holds at the last. A quiet, comforting confidence rather than fear of the end.
A Question to Sit With
What do you hope will steady you when things are hardest?
