In plain words

The True One made a throne to sit on.

The One is everything. The Guru's Word makes this known.

With its own creative power, the One built the world, like great houses and places to rest.

It made two lamps, the sun and the moon, and shaped the whole design perfectly.

The One sees, and the One hears. Through the Guru's Word, keep the One in your mind.

The One that lit the sun and the moon is the same One doing the seeing behind your eyes.
The deeper layer

The One creates a throne and sits on it, and in the very next breath that picture opens up: He Himself is everything, so the throne is not a place apart. The sun and the moon are set up as the two lamps of creation, and the crucial move is that the One is both maker and experiencer, He Himself sees and He Himself hears. The Word (Shabad) is offered as the way in.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever felt that the world was somehow watching back?
