Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
An Udasi, a shaven-headed one who has left worldly life, is one who lets go inside.
They see the spotless One living everywhere, above and below.
They keep the sun and the moon, the two energies within them, in balance.
The body, the wall around such a person, does not fall down.
Gopi Chand says: the One is Truth itself. The highest reality has no outline and no form.
Letting go happens inside. An Udasi is someone who leaves worldly life behind; the one worth the name lets go within and sees the spotless One everywhere.
So udaasee je paalay udaas means "the Udasi is the one who keeps to letting go." Such a person sees niranjan, the spotless One, everywhere, high and low.
Chand sooraj kee paa-ay gandh means "he ties the sun and the moon together." Yogis spoke of two energy channels in the body, one like the sun and one like the moon. Here it means being balanced and steady.
The body-wall of such a person does not fall down. Think of a house built on a strong base. Storms come, but it stands. This line is spoken in the name of Gopi Chand, a king in the old stories who became a yogi. Sat saroop means the One is truth itself. Param tant meh raykh na roop: the deepest reality has no outline and no shape.
Where do you find your balance when things tip?
