The self-willed manmukh does not appreciate the value of the Lord's temple; they waste away and lose their lives.

The One Lord is pervading in all; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He can be found. ||12||

In plain words

That alone is called the temple of the One, where the One is known.

In the human body the Guru's Word is found, when you come to know that the Soul of all lives in everyone.

Do not look for the One outside yourself at all. The Maker of all lives in the home of your own heart.

Someone turned away from the One does not see how precious this temple is, and wastes their life away.

The One fills everyone, and is found through the Guru's Word.

The temple you are looking for is the heart you are already carrying.
The deeper layer

A temple (har mandar) is wherever the One is known, and that is the human body itself. Do not look outside yourself: the Creator, the Architect of Destiny, lives in the home of your own heart and is found through the Shabad, right where you already are.

This is one of the Vaar's landmark verses, and it echoes Bhagat Peepaa's teaching that the body is the temple.

A Question to Sit With

What might change if you treated your own heart as a sacred place?
