Be Merciful, O my Lord and Master, that I may pass my life in the Society of the Saints.

Those who forget You are born only to die and be reincarnated again; their sufferings will never end. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Be kind to me, my Master, so that I may spend my life in the Sangat, among the saints.
Those who forget You are born only to die and be born again; their sorrows never come to an end.
Spend your days in the Sangat, close to the One.
One request: a life passed in the Sangat (santaa sang) — people gathered together to remember the One. Against it stands a plain warning: forgetting the One keeps a person going round and round through birth and death, with sorrow that does not end. The cure is simply to stay close to the One in the company of the saints.
A Question to Sit With
Who do you want to spend more of your time around, and why?
