In plain words

Meeting the other soul-brides in the Sangat, I sing songs of joy.

The home of my heart is held steady now, and I will not run off wandering again.

Bad thinking is gone, and with it wrongdoing and my bad name.

I am known as calm and kind, and my heart is full of Truth.

Inside and out, the One alone is my way.

My mind thirsts to see the One; I serve at the Beloved's feet.

I am made beautiful and honoured when my Master takes me as His own.

I meet Him by blessed fortune, when it pleases Him.

The Sangat helps the home of your heart hold steady.
The deeper layer

The soul speaks as a bride, singing in the Sangat, people gathered together to remember the One. The home of the heart (ghar) is held steady: a picture of sahaj, the settled ease that stops the wandering. Bad thinking and the old bad name fall away, and the bride is honoured and adorned. The meeting comes by blessed fortune (sanjog), when it pleases the One.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel most settled and most yourself?
